Inspiring and encouraging: acknowledging how we live with such routine, with everything planned and we don’t have to. How we believe we need millions to travel, but the options are plentiful. And how anything can be a journey or an adventure with the right mindset. To open your eyes to the world with a free spirit.
An investigative travel memoir dissecting the reasons an entire (though tiny) country can be so happy! So many things make resounding sense like where their priorities lay, their outlook on work life balance and their systems of support when wanting to change jobs. The love for design, social clubs and perfect pastrys really do explain why they are potentially the happiest of folks - this book inspired our own ‘4 days of living Danishly!’ in ‘23, and I concur I felt pretty damn happy while I was there!
A great book about someone truly finding their calling. A Young Girl Not fitting in with her surroundings and searching for something. What she found was petrifying and yet is what made her. A comment how the world is slowly getting ruined by humans but still positive to know people are fighting for it and looking after the wonderful animals that should not be in danger but are. Particularly good read for adventurous young people who have just finished uni or college who are uncertain of what they want to do next.
An impressive memoir of a guy buying a farm miles from anywhere, rotting with no running water and then starts a family there. Enjoyable read particularly whilst in Spain, I love a situation read! He comes across as a really nice human who’s willing to work - really hard, learn - from the unlikeliest of characters and is totally Tenacious in his efforts at the Farm and is dedicated to making a radical decision a success. Felt quite lazy reading this lazing in the sun with fully working amenities!

A sort of allegory tale of being brave and doing the things you actually want to do in life. Respect for all things because we are all written as one thing and we are all connected. Seeing things change… metal to gold, can we change as people to a better thing if we appreciate all things and are connected to the earth. That’s what I got anyway! I also need to add that this book is on a lot of travel ‘must reads‘ and that’s why I read it, but I personally I prefer an actual memoir but it did make you think!
A really honest and raw story. Loved her journey from sadness and addiction to finding joy in the very fundamentals of life. Interesting how the men came across predatory… more scary than the bears and snakes. Her honesty talking about intimacy and sex and her flaws was inspiring. The film is also fantastic.
